LA – Homework Cover #32
|
A Description
In order to do your homework 32, you need your
textbook (Anthology), read and follow some important steps. See your textbook
(pp. 52 - 53).
First, read the Student Writing Model, “By the Sea”.
Observe the
characteristics of a good description:
beginning, imagery, similes, details and
ending. Understand those five elements
in a description in order to make a description of your own.
Second, think of a place (your school, neighborhood or any
place you have been before, a place that you remember well). Have or take a
picture of the place (or places) and attach it to your homework assignment
(take a picture of the place, print and attach it).
Third, on a piece of paper, outline information about it.
(Outline = sketch out, make a draft, give an idea of
it, summarize it in a few steps). Sketch out the whole description
before you write the final draft/version.
Finally, on another piece of paper, write a clear
description of the place. However, consider the following: write five short paragraphs. Do your work as the following:
(Paragraph 1) beginning. (Paragraph 2) imagery. (Paragraph 3) similes.
(Paragraph 4) details. (Paragraph 5) ending.
