Your notes:
What is the description/feeling about?
Who described it? What feeling? Who had the feeling? (Please, name the person and tell how old he/she is).

Third – gather all your notes and organize them where they belong. Some of them might be descriptions; others will be feelings etc.

Last – make sure the chart is complete. Bring it to class and let us share with our classmates what we have found in the videos!

Volume: basic concepts

What is volume?
Volume is the measurement of the amount of space that something (a liquid, solid or gas) takes up in a container.

How can you calculate volume?
To find the volume of any cube you need to know the length, width and height. To find the volume, you multiply the length by the width by the height.

How do you work out the volume of a square?
In order to find the volume of a cube, multiply side times side times side. Since each side of a square is the same, it can simply be the length of one side cubed. If a square has one side of 4 inches, the volume would be 4 inches times 4 inches times 4 inches, equals 64 cubic inches (or 64 in3).

How do you figure out the volume of a rectangle?
Multiply the length, the width, and the height. You can multiply them in any order to get the same different result. The formula for finding the volume of a rectangular prism, for example, is the following:
Volume = Length X Height X Width (or V = L X H X W).

Volume of triangular prism

How do you get the base of a triangular prism?
The formula to calculate the volume of a triangular prism is equal to B times H, or Base times Height. To find the base, multiply the length by the width and divide that by 2. Take the bases area and multiply by the height.

Here is a Challenge

How do you find the volume of a triangular pyramid? Watch this video and have the taste of it:

Personal Response to the Book: _______________________________________

We have been reading several books this semester. Think of any book you have read in class and write a personal response to this book (story). In class this week, we reinforced the concept of what a personal response is, and it was very helpful to remind us how to do it (Mr. Peabody's Apples). Now you must do the same activity about the book you have in mind.

First – Check out the book again, if needed. If you do not need to have the book with you because you remember the story, go ahead and outline your personal response on a sheet of A4 paper. We are going to have a class discussion about books, and each person needs an outline to support the talk.

Second – If you need some help, revisit the personal response example to Pippi Longstocking (we did in class) http://homeworklesson.blogspot.com.br/2016/09/personal-response-example.html

Third – For your outline, consider the following:

A brief description of what the book is about;
Share your feelings during and after reading it;
Share your findings after reading;
Give your thoughts and ideas about the book;
Suggest the book to someone you know, and give three reasons or more why you suggest that book to that specific person.

Last – Make sure you write everything in pen – do not print anything, please. Then – Have your outline with you for our circle time on Mondays. Let’s talk about books!

Summary:
The book, “Mr. Peabody’s Apple”, tells a story about a boy who told lies (1). Mr. Peabody loved the kids so much and he played baseball with them every Saturday. One day, Mr. Peabody, a good teacher and baseball coach, finds himself alone on the ball field. He wonders where everybody is until the bat boy, Billy Little, shows up. Billy tells him that another student, Tommy Tittlebottom, saw Mr. Peabody taking apples from the market and spread rumors he was a thief. Mr. Peabody then shows Tommy that what matters is the truth. It is not how things appear. And that we must choose our words carefully to avoid hurting others. The story shows the power of words and that they may unfairly change a person's life.
