Homework #25 Due September 4th - Inventions

In class, we have watched and discussed about these simple inventions shown in this video. Your job is to identify and think of a problem you deal with or any issue you might have in your everyday routine. Then, make an invention of your own. Make a chart and answer some important questions about your possible invention. As soon as you invent or create something, you may bring it or make a simple poster to show your invention to your peers and teacher. Watch the video again if needed, it will help you think and create your invention.

Homework Title:
Planning a Driving Trip

Dear student, this weekly homework is very like the exercise we did in class this Monday, August 21st. Your teacher drew the map-like on the whiteboard and the instructions you needed to follow. We did this exercise together. Own your own, now you need to do the same thing: use the USA map and the right information provided on the pictures (see pictures 2 and 3). Then answer the questions. All the information you need is on the images provided. As soon as you do your assignment, you must print out the images, your answers, and hand in for teacher’s check on the due day.

Sunday Event:
Sunday, it is currently 3:35pm (in the afternoon) and Mr. Morais is supposed to meet his best friend for dinner at 6:20pm. Before he leaves his house he needs to clean his room, shower, get dressed, and still have time to get to his friend's house. Use your math skills to figure out how much time Mr. Morais has to finish all the tasks and arrive for dinner at 6:20pm? Solve the word problem and make an Elapsed Time Number Line to show your work.

Write different real events you have throughout the week. One day = one event. You must be a narrator and the character in the real events. See the example your teacher gave you in class. Make an Elapsed Time Number Line to show your work.
