Homework #37 due November 27

Energy comes in two basic forms: potential and kinetic:

Potential Energy is any type of stored energy. It can be chemical, nuclear, gravitational, or mechanical.

Kinetic Energy is found in movement. For example: An airplane flying or a meteor plummeting each have kinetic energy. Even the tiniest things have kinetic energy, like atoms vibrating when they are hot or when they transmit sound waves. Electricity is the kinetic energy of flowing electrons between atoms.

Homework 37 - Follow some steps:

First, observe some types of energy in different places at home, school and in streets;

Second, identify which form of energy it is (5 or more).

Third, write a brief explanation to tell why you think the energy is potential or kinetic.

Last, draw pictures to illustrate your examples;

Use a chart to organize your work.

Draw a picture for your explanation
Forms of Kinetic Energy

Homework #35 Due November 13.

Homework #35 – Facts and Exaggeration – Characteristics of tall tales

Dear student, your job this week is to find five facts or more about different subjects. Ask your parents for help if needed. Then make a PowerPoint presentation, save it in a pen drive or you can do it in your own iPad. You must present your work to your classmates next Monday. Don’t forget to tell the source (where you found the facts).

One slide for the fact and another slide for the exaggeration and funny stuff.
As in tall tales, you must exaggerate the facts. See the examples below.

Fact (real, true or regular news):

Corinthians extended their lead at the top of Brazil's Serie A standings with a 3-2 victory over fellow title contenders Palmeiras.

Exaggeration (stretched truth, exaggerated and funny):

Palmeiras' fans got sad. They were crying rivers for the loss! Yesterday was the end of the drama. The Brazilian Championship reached the final straight Corinthians host Palmeiras in Sao Paulo last Sunday, November 5th

It was a long race to the finish, but Corinthians finally beat Palmeiras. In the end Palmeiras’ fans, even the poor farm pigs across the country, couldn’t stop crying. Anyways, they are all brave and will come back soon! “We will come back!”, they said.
