Proper Fractions - Improper Fractions - Mixed Fraction

Fractions that are greater than 0 but less than 1 are called proper fractions. Improper fractions, the numerator is less than the denominator. When a fraction has a numerator that is greater than or equal to the denominator, the fraction is an improper fraction. An improper fraction is always 1 or greater than 1. Mixed Fraction is a whole number and a proper fraction combined. Let's learn about each type at a time. See the image to understand it!

Basic Fractions - Review

When writing a fraction there are two main parts: the numerator and the denominator. The numerator is how many parts you have. The denominator is how many parts the whole was divided into. Fractions are written with the numerator over the denominator and a line in between them. Math Fractions Review

Homework #27 Due September 18 - Personal Response

Name: _________________________________________________________
Date: __________________________________________________________

Homework #27 – Writing a Personal Response

Instructions:

The purpose of a personal response to your literature circle book is for you to state an opinion about a character's traits, the setting, plot, theme etc. We recommend you to first organize a brief summary of the story, second you may tell your feelings, third your thoughts and ideas, and last your opinion.

Everything supported by evidences from the text/story. Your personal response must include some description, your own thoughts and feelings about the reading. It teaches you to think about what you are reading.

Choose one book chapter you have read for homework #26, and write a personal response about it. Your personal response should be in the same format as we did together in class.

Here is a suggestion for you to follow.

Paragraph #01 – Description (summary)
Paragraph #02 – Your feelings about it
Paragraph #03 – Ideas you have about the story
Paragraph #04 – Your thoughts about it
Paragraph #05 – Opinions about the story

The paragraph samples (images) might be helpful too.

Once you finish your personal response, you must read and record your voice, as you read your personal response. Read aloud the five paragraphs and record your voice. Save the audio file in a flash drive (pen drive) or in any electronic device you have. Hand it for teacher's check.
